Aria and the No Hands Walking
Aria has been taking steps now for awhile. It always needed lots of encouragement and would only be maybe 2-3 at a time. Until now!
The past 2-3 days Aria has decided, as Aria does, it is time to start walking. Finally! On Friday suddenly she was walking from our stairs to the table by the door, maybe a good 4 metres and back again. Saturday she was walking around Pak n Save and starting to ‘take off’ by herself without prompting. Today I was drying my hair and Aria just walks into the room! It was so strange to me to see her do that.
I think on Friday when I said she could walk around like mummy and daddy really hit home to her. She thought that was cool. And Hamish told her today she didn’t need to crawl anymore cause she can walk. That seems to click with her too. She is SUPER proud of herself.
It would be nice to know why it has taken Aria until she is two and a half to walk. There has never been anything wrong with her muscles or legs or brain. From the beginning of her life, being sliced open at 36 hours old, things haven’t gone well. But we are here now, walking and talking and she beat Asher to it as well. Although he isn’t far behind. It is looking likely I might have two children learning to walk at similar times! Still we are so happy to see Aria walking around unaided, it is pretty cool 😀

This Milestone has to be worth a video clip!!! It is awesome news, well done Aria! Constantly through our lives we all take those first steps, and then walk and run when the time is right and not when text books or other people think we should!! Maybe Aria is going to be a very level headed individual and think everything through thoroughly before she leaps!! A good quality! Hope all is going great for you guys!! Lis

Soooooo cool – Aria does things in her own time and when she feels comfortable – we gathered that when we first met her- she shows her comfort levels when SHE is ready! – Bless!

You know what Anita – it may not even be related to her medical condition why she did not walk until now, maybe she just did not see the need! Thankfully Rachel was very slow to walk so when Matisse did not show interest and everybody else got upset about it I did not need to worry – my girls took their time one had a medical excuse and the other well, she was just did not want too. So happy Aria is enjoying the pleasure of her new found independence! I think there will be some things our little boys do before our girls but as long as the girls don’t care then we should’nt either.

Hi Amazing how I came across your web page my cousin was looking up fearfully and wonderfully made websites and found Aria, I am from Scotland not sure if we made contact a long time ago I have a 10year old Samuel who had total intestinal hirschsprungs disease, he is on tpn since birth great to make contact.

Go Aria Go! You are doing so well. There will be no stopping her now and wait till Asher and her are both walking. You won’t know yourself.
They do things when they are ready and she’s decided she’s ready.

Hi Anita….back to the woolly Hi-5 hat….it must be the age. Mieke got up this morning and pulled everything out of her drawers and would not go to childcare until i allowed her to wear the beanie she pulled out!! T-shirt, beanie, shorts…strange combination and made me think instantly of Aria! Must be something in the air!!
