Walmart!
Asher and I went to Walmart today! It was great, lots of fun. Â Our lovely new friend Carol took us which was fab. Â She also took Asher for a walk while I did some shopping. Â It wasn’t as overwhelming as I thought it would be. Â It was pretty much the same as the Warehouse in Sylvia Park except blue instead of red 🙂
Carol also brought lots of goodies with her including some presents for the kids (tucked away for Christmas Day) from her lovely neighbour (super kind!) And apple butter!!! Â Like lemon butter but more like spicy apple sauce. Â Anyway very nice.
The Dominion Post is doing a story on Aria which be in the Saturday edition of the paper and available online Saturday morning NZ time and Friday Omaha time. Â The lovely media lady, Andrea at the hospital took a family shot of us. Â I will put it up tomorrow but you will see it online. Â Aria is very very yellow, I was quite shocked. Â She was trying to smile too which was super cute.
The Omaha World Herald called as well wanting to do a story but Andrea declined on our behalf. Â We can wait until after transplant I think and share our story then.
Aria actually had a great 24 hours and we are feeling upbeat. Â If Aria is doing well then Hamish and I feel better and everything seems manageable. Â We are on top of her pain and she is managing walking still and talking heaps. Â She has some fluid on her lungs which they are trying to shift so it doesn’t get bugs in it. Â She also had more blood today which means she remains a Status One for another 7 days. Â Great news because that makes her able to get organs countrywide not just by region. Â Although the team doesn’t know who else is also status one and it depends on size and blood type too. Â So there may still be a reasonable wait but hopefully soon! Â Although it is still difficult to hope for such a thing. Â We are hoping for a donation of life not a passing of one. Â I hope that makes sense.
We have been getting mail which is completely awesome and the highlight of our days. Â Got two packages from the Burtons including their family newsletter which I must of read ten times and giggled at Karla’s little jokes. Â But it was fab to read about someone else for a change! Â Also got gifts from Jodee and Matisse. Â Matisse passed on her toy BBQ to Aria cause she does real cooking now! Â Cute! Â Also Lori sent us a wonderful package full of super useful things that had been floating around in my head to buy. Â Lori spent time here with her son Caed so knew exactly what we needed from air freshener to a roll of quarters for doing washing!

I know your wonderful Mum from her child care days. I read your blog each day to see how you are all going. From a Mum who has a baby in heaven, your wishing for organs is going to be a blessing for another. Knowing a child is alive through a lost is a blessing, it means another family won’t have to go through the lost of their child. Take care, stay strong and we will keep you all in our prayers.

Not an accident, I can assure you. Stephen Tyndall actually got a lot of ideas from them – he said it only took about 50 faxes for them to answer him 🙂

And He who searches our hearts knows the mind of the Spirit, because the Spirit intercedes for the saints in accordance with God’s will.
I just love this verse, especially for those moments we don’t know how, what to pray. Have confidence that Jesus will intercede for you.

Hello, you don’t know me, but my friends, the Mortons, from Wangoom, Vic have told me about your story. Apparently your families have mutual friends. I want you to know that your family is in my prayers. My sister had brain surgery one year ago. I was away from home, but not nearly as far as you… I know it doesn’t even compare. I hope this scripture finds you strength as you go through the valleys.
“He has brought us by faith into this experience of God’s grace, in which we now live. And so we boast of the hope we have of sharing God’s glory! We also boast of our troubles, because we know that trouble produces endurance, endurance brings God’s approval, and his approval creates hope. This hope does not disappoint us, for God has poured our his love into our hearts by means of the Holy Spirit, who is God’s gift to us. (Romans 5:2-5)

I take Aria is on TPN feeding ?
I have a son who had Malrotaion Volvuolous ( Twisted Bowel) which had to be removed as most of his stomach over 2 years ago.He is on TPN feeding 4 times a week but is lucky he had what was left of his stomach re-sectioned so he can eat a lttle.

Lovely photo of all of you and big beautiful one of Aria on front of Dominion times – god I hope those organs hurry up. I pray all the time that Cody’s liver stays healthy re TPN. I pray for wee Aria every night and Matisse. It sounds like you’re getting great support in Omaha yay.
