Update
Aria’s status one expires tonight at midnight.  That means we should be leaving PICU tomorrow or Monday.  We have been here since day three of being in Omaha and I hate to leave.  I dread her being discharged but dread going to the ward more.  Hamish roomed in with her last night and only got blocks of sleep in half hour lots.  Crazy.  But we still have TPN to re-learn on a new system so that will take time.
The team got another offer of organs last night for Aria but turned them down. Â The patient had been too unstable was the reason we were given. Â It is a good sign we are getting calls. Â But both times organs have obviously come from very sick children which is sad. Â Must be hard to offer your child’s organs for donation for that kind offer not to be taken up.
So perhaps her HB might drop tonight and she may need to be transfused tomorrow (doubtful of that) or tonight may be the night she gets her gift. Â God will give us strength for whatever lies ahead for the next week.

I’m so happy that Aria enjoyed her time out with you! God knows what’s best for Aria, so keep believing that. I pray that she does get new organs soon! Yeah, it’s been nice in Michigan, without it snowing every 2 secs. (or so it seems). We get more snow tomorrow though. I try my best to pray for all parents (& for their kids), & their kids who are sick. I can’t imagine what it’s like. I pray that God would give your family strength, peace, hope, & love. God Bless!

I can just feel Aria’s excitement. In our church we have a sentence for the day and today’s was Psalm 65 vs 5,6.
With awesome deeds you answer our prayers for deliverance, O God our Saviour, you that are the hope of all the ends of the earth, and of the far off seas.
I thought this was appropriate to your situation.

Sorry you missed out on some organs but I’m so happy that the doctors are wanting only the best for Aria, if they can afford to be picky then they know they have time. Hope Aria has her transfusion and is kept high on the list. Lovely to hear about your family trip out! Hang in there, you are always on my mind!
