Will it stay or will it go?
Looks like that annoying breathing tube might go today. Â I hope so. Â If there is a possibility that Aria might go the OR tomorrow again, so there is no point taking it out only to have to put it back in again.
The cultures they took yesterday are still clear, that is a good sign. Â And they are also testing the abdominal drain fluid for pee. Â Her kidney plumbing might be leaking pee into her abdominal cavity. Â So at 2pm we should get that test back.
Aria is sleeping today a lot, that is fine. Â She wakes up when we do things to her so that is good. Â She is still really puffy with a lot of fluid on board, although it is getting better.
And her bilirubin is 7.1 and decreasing at every blood draw!  7.1 times 18 = 127 for those kiwis in the know.  Great news, she is visibly less yellow.
Hamish and Asher have gone to the store to get him some PJs. Â His size ones are around his elbows and his little arms are getting cold at night. Â Then they are off to Chuck E Cheese!
I am starting to think and put feelers out about apartments/houses. Â In theory Aria should be discharged from hospital on intestinal feeds and fully off TPN. Â That is a concept too big to get my head around. Â But lots of places have waiting lists so better to get started now.
The idea of setting up house again is rather overwhelming.  Hamish and I were joking we should get re-married so we could have a wedding and get all those helpful house setting up presents.  We haven’t really lived in the same house for since maybe November last year so it is almost like getting married again!!! But then we would have to organise a wedding- no thanks 🙂  But if God can provide us millions of dollar and those precious organs then He can totally take care of furniture and knives and forks!

What a great report. Aria is doing so well. Things are progressing smoothly and gently as they should. Good luck with home hunting it must be very daunting but I am sure that help will come when you need it – you already have such a great support system in Omaha!

Just letting you know that Jean’s Mum and brother keep tabs on your news!!! Against all the odds you’ve come this far!! Enjoying the beach bach without all the hassles is beginning to look much closer!! Wouldn’t be surprised if the help you get with setting up your flat makes you feel like you got married all over again!! God Bless you both.

Wow…awesome news!!! I think the re-married idea is great…but please make it in July so I can come 😉 We applied last night to miracle flight to see if we can get Elijah over there for a second opinion or better still treatment with the possibility of discussing muscle transposition and reconstruction surgery.

ugh sick child, house hunting – when Cody first became sick him and I ended up between houses (he was initially in hospital for two months) and in that time I had to find housing for us. I was living in hospital accommodation until days before his discharge was a nightmare – I hope the good lord gets nice team to organise it all for you guys so you can concentrate on Aria and Asher and staying sane

When we lived in the US back in the 1980s, we found people so generous and willing to help provide for our needs; I’m sure you will, too. And I hope Asher and Hamish enjoyed Chuck E Cheese, that great icon of American culture!

Thanks so much for converting those numbers, i’m in Australia and I understand what 127 means too, so YAY for bili numbers comming down. Praying hard for the house thing comming together too. I’m so sure that it will though, and I wish I was close enough to give you some furniture, or knives and forkes and stuff……but unfortunatly prayers is all I can give from so far away. Sending lots and lots of prayers for all of you. 🙂
