Sold!
Today Aria had her first session of dialysis. Â The fellow got a line in her shoulder first shot no problems. Â It was kinda emotional and difficult for various reasons but we got there in the end. Â Normally kids in the PICU are on 24 hour dialysis but Aria is having a 2 and a half hour session. Â There are two more machines in the room and an extra person so it is a bit of a burden.
At the end of the session I was sold on the idea and finally convinced it was the right thing. Â They got 750mls of fluid off, her volumes on the vent increased AND she seemed happier. Â She was blowing me air kisses after it finished it was so cute.
The verdict on her kidneys is that they are currently poisoned and not happy.  Poisoned unfortunately because they had to be to, they were the whipping boys so to speak for Aria’s treatments.  The team assures me they will recover.  The test for antibody rejection isn’t back yet and it it pretty tricky to biopsy but they aren’t thinking rejection.
Hamish and I just did a test drive of the car and we are also sold on it! Â So stoked, we have big smiles and are so thankful it has worked out so perfectly. Â We have some paper work and a cheque to get to our friends but we will be the proud owners of a nice silver 2001 PT cruiser for a crazy low price 🙂 Thanks John and Lindsey. Â Praise God for His mighty hand in this situation.
So today is a good day.  Asher is also on the improve.  No D&V for 48 hours and no panadol/Tylenol today and he only spiked to 38.2.  He is pretty grizzly, well enough to be upset he is sick but not sick enough to be down and out on the couch.  Poor little dude.

A most encouraging result from the Dialysis and even for a shorter time. It should help relieve some of the load the kidneys have been having to cope with as well – we continue to pray to that effect. And PTL about the car! Wow watch out Omaha here comes a kiwi!!

Giving thanks that the Dialysis went well, and praying that her kidneys recover well. Yay for air kisses Aria you are a real trooper sweetie. Pleased that Ashie is on the improve and praying he will be back to his bouncy self soon. Hi family, Ive been following Aria and your amazing family since the tv programme. Dont really know what to say apart from ‘your’ (=family) strength is truely beautiful. Not for one minute can I begin to understand what/how you all cope but I understand being a parent and a midwife. So I understand how precious ‘our’ collective babies are. My thoughts are with you all. Im sending extra hugs & support.

Yeh! Another great wake up day. So glad dialysis went so well. It should help a great deal with those overworked kidneys. Airkisses !I’m so jealous.God is good. The PT will be a fabulous little runabout, once again God’s perfect timing. I feel for Asher! I’m glad he’s getting better, because it’s definitely no fun being sick! I’m also glad to hear that Aria’s dialasis is working! Hopefully, that will help improve faster! Sounds like you have a great 2nd car! God Bless! 🙂
