Going good
Yesterday I was a bit lazy and just put up some photos. Â It was a long day in hospital with Aria. Â Actually the days are good but they are kinda draining.
Weekends in the hospital are quite nice.  They are quieter and there is less people around.  So Hamish brought in Asher for the afternoon and they stayed about 6 hours.  Asher was so well behaved, even managed to sit on Aria’s bed with her when dialysis was going.  It was a lot of fun.  I think Aria really enjoyed herself.
Today I was home with Asher so we skyped a couple of times. Â I cooked dinner and Aria watched and we chatted about what I was doing. Â Then Asher and I played trains and Aria watched again. Â She really seemed happy. Â Personally I think it would be pretty boring but hey whatever works.
Medically things are going very well too. Â The ICU doctor today said they are going to trial off the vent for 15mins at a time by the end of the week. Â YAY- this means Aria will be able to talk. Â Funny though because exactly a week ago I was being cheeky even suggesting to them that Aria could be on sprints by the end of that week. Â Well she was sprinting by wednesday last week and today they increased it to 2 hours three times a day.
Finally it appears though her daily fever has broken.  Every morning she would spike to 39ish and her HR would jump to 150s.  You could set your watch to it.  Yesterday morning and today no spike and her WBC is down.  Thankfully we might of seen the tail end of that nasty multi drug resistant Pseudomonas.  Maybe not- but please Aria someday soon Aria’s blood, lungs and body would be sterile and NO BUGS!
Dialysis continues unfortunately.  We have been promised a break on Wednesday to celebrate Aria’s birthday.  It is all planned, well as much planning that needs to be done with a hospital birthday.  There is a big pile of presents to take in and there is talk of Elmo visiting!
Better go Hamish is finally home. Â Got a couple of amusingly concerned emails- don’t worry we won’t actually be eating pizza for weeks. Â Although we both had some for lunch and there is still a giant piece left!

I’m happy that things with Aria are going so well! I pray those nasty bugs stay away! I will be sending Aria (& Asher to) some gifts soon. Hope tomorrow is a great day! God Bless!

What???!!! Elmo might be coming??? Can we come can we come??? That would be so cool! Aria heaps deserves it and it would bring her so much happiness for sure!
The piccies yesterday were great… They say a picture is worth a thousand words, as Jen has said, so there was a full essay plus there! :-).
Can’t wait to see photos of Aria’s party and hope she has a fantastic day!

I loved seeing the pics too! I have to admit I really miss my Aria ‘hit’ each day if you haven’t posted by the time I go to bed – that is not putting any pressure on you as I know how much effort it is to type it up at the end of a draining day but you do know how much we all love you and love hearing from you! Can’t wait to hear about Aria’s birthday – she is fantastic and doing so very very well!

Nothing wrong with pics. It was great seeing Aria communicating and interacting. Even stopped Nana from going to church! Aunties John made ring was fantastic. Keep smiling, Aria is setting a great example for the All Whites.

Hi, This may sound weird – but i feel abit like a stalker lol!!! I have been following Aria’s progress since I saw your story on the programme “Attitude” a month or so ago and I just wanted to say how strong and amazing you all are. Not really sure what else to say other than I am so pleased to see how well Aria is progressing – absolutly amazing. It has become a daily ritual for me to check my emails then check on Aria. Praise God for no temps the last 2 mornings. soon you’ll be able to post that she is out of intensive care, I can’t wait to see that happen. You are all doing so well. What a god story so far, it has been amazing from this end of the line to see. I so look for you updates. It is an inspiration. May aria truly enjoy her belated 4th Birthday party, may it be a truly wonderful day for all involved. God bless everyone.

Great news about no temps for two days and the sprints. Praise God for good days. Don’t be sorry about the picture posts they are great, and so nice to see such lovely pictures. Love it that Ashie and Aria got to spend some time together on Sunday and that Aria got to watch you on skype, soon she will be back to helping you cook like old times. I am yet another faithful ‘Attitude’ viewer, and thus a follower of your ‘journey to wellness’ with your brave little girl.
It is amazing to think how far Aria has come, and I can only imagine how tough it must be for you all.
