Which way will it go?
UPDATE Aria has had a really good day. Â Weaned on her O2 and she is back to where she was yesterday. Â So she isn’t declining, that is good. Â Hopefully it is a result of the ABX or anti fungal and also getting more fluid off her. Â She has been really happy and sat in her little chair at her table and played most of the day. Â Standing up too and taking steps.
Unfortunately two of the three tests have come back negative. Â Still one more to go though. Â Everyone is just hoping she improves so we can avoid a bronch and possible intubation.
It feels like we are standing on the edge of a time waiting to see which way this admission will go.
Best case: Prelim results today which indicate some fungus and Aria starts to improve. Â We ditch the ABX and start on oral fungus treatment and we are outta here in time for Disneyworld.
Worst case: Negative results from tests today and tomorrow.  Aria needs a bronch of which she is at high risk to remain intubated.  She continues to decline and needs 2-4 weeks IV treatments.  The talk of putting in a PICC or central line at rounds this morning also becomes a reality.  Disneyworld is out and also other plans we had for Dec are out.
Very worst and most unlikely case: It is neither fungus or bacterial and it is PTLD and Aria starts chemo.
Gosh- are you just wondering how this is going to turn out? Â What is God perfect plan in all this? Â Will He ask Aria/us to walk thru the dark valley of intubation again?
If Aria starts chemo- is He still Good? Â Yes He is.
Today’s verses- this one God laid on my heart
Psalm 27:14Â (New International Version)
14 Wait for the LORD;
be strong and take heart
and wait for the LORD.
This one from my mother in law- Thanks Christine
Philippians 4:6Â (New International Version)
6Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God.
Whatever the answer, Aria is currently sitting up and doing big belly laughs at Dora! Â Next she will be blowing bubbles and building houses. Â She is doing awesome. Â Her O2 requirements have gone up so technically she is still heading downwards although crashing down so that is ok. Â Praying hard for an improvement soon!

Carolyn O'Cain says:What a challenging time for all of you! I am praying for His will to be done and for his peace and grace for each of you as you follow wherever He leads. Love the scriptures! Lamentations 3:25- “The Lord is good to those whose hope is in Him, to the one who seeks Him”. I know you are seeking Him with all your heart… He is faithful and He will carry you through every step of this journey. Sending my love and hugs to each of you.
In His great and magnificent love,
Carolyn O’Cain
