Not the Magic Kingdom
Today we are having a not so magical day.
Yesterday Aria was the life of the party. Today she is a sleepy, itchy, fiesty wee girl.
Aria got next to no sleep last night as she was uncomfortable all night (fluid issues?) and was working harder and harder to breathe. We ended up putting her back onto the high flow oxygen to try and give her some relief , she is breathing easier but it didn’t help her sleep like it did the other day.
New today is the crazy itchiness which is accompanied by a widespread rash. Again we have no idea what exactly is causing that either.
We have a couple of other little bumps on the go to, overall we seem to have one great day, then one not great day.
There are still theories to explore and courses of treatment to persist with, however it just feels lousy to make good gains and have them all slip away and actually have new issues to deal with.
However we will persist, accepting that we are her in the magical land of PICU as long as it takes to get things right again.
Verse of the day for us: 2 Thessalonians 3:5 May the Lord direct our hearts into God’s love and Christ’s perseverance.

Allergic reactions can be so miserable.Praying that they find the culprit soon and get things on the right path.It brings to mind the poem ‘FOOTPRINTS’and know that God is walking right along with Aria and you all.

Hmmmm. God’s love and Christ’s perseverance. Sounds like the ideal place to be at this bumpy time. And that is exactly what we will pray for you today.

I hope Aria soon feels a lot better and the itching stops!Both my kids have just been diagnosed with scarlet fever, so dosing them up on antibiotics. Scarlet fever causes itching and rash over the body so I know that poor Aria will be feel uncomfortable with the itch. Lots of love and prayers are with you.

Sorry to hear of more bumps. It was like that for Lara too – lots of bumps and we wondered if things would ever improve and stop feeling like it was one step forward, two steps back, and guess what it does, not right away but you WILL get there. Just have faith, it’s hard I know, you have had tasters of what it will be like and you will get back there again.

Poor Aria! I wish there was something I could do to help her! I will be praying for her, of course, but I wish I could actually be there to help her. I wish I could help your whole family Anita & Hamish! I’ll be praying the doctors figure out 100% why all this is happening. Praying tomorrow will be better for everyone! God Bless!

A great verse. I have been encouraged often through the week through meditating on the hymn ‘Be Still My Soul”. So many precious phrases. Take the first line – “Be still my soul, the Lord is ON your side”! See if you can find a copy of the hymn! With you in prayer.
