Suffering
Not sure if I would call our currently situation suffering. Â Yet stepping outside the situation and looking at it as a ‘normal person’ (whatever that is), having a child bouncing in and out of hospital with only days inbetween would definitely qualify.
Yet for the MacDonald family suffering is having Aria dying and on a ventilator for months on end.  Which for some I guess would be called tragedy and it was.
Aria is back in hospital. Â This time she has a UTI, or urinary tract infection. Â Likely from a rash that got angry and spread the past day or so. Â For an immune surpressed child little things turn into big things. Â Things you don’t really expect.
She isn’t feeling so great. Â Hot and bothered. Â Pretty grumpy with headaches and a sore tummy. Â Not a happy camper. Â Hopefully a dose of ABX will start to turn that around.
Hamish told Asher he was going in to see Aria in hospital and Nana would look after him. Â Asher said ‘ok’ and kept eating his breakfast unfazed. Â It has become a way of life.
I just sit here and watch the snow and type. Â Thinking please God teach me something special! Â Please let us suffer well. Â Please don’t let this suffering be wasted on me like I feel it has before. Â Let us know how to love others who are suffering in a extra special way. Â Please let others reading this learn something good about Yourself and how great You are!

Raylene says:So sorry to read Aria has to deal with something else on her journey
What I am learning from reading your posts is your wonderful faith in God and am am beginning to question my own beliefs -or rather lack of beliefs and how can one family endure so much without questioning.

Joan Marshall says:If nothing else Anita, YOU have helped me to understand my faith as you face all the hurdles and setback with Aria. I simply don’t know how you keep going and as with Raylene, I wonder how one family can endur so much and still go on with only a few doubts in God from time to time. Keep it up all of you. You’ve come such a long way so don’t give in now.

Lindsey Elsaesser says:Stink! back from us to you Aria (: I think the hardest part is to watch your child suffer. Evie’s past episode was especially hard for me because I had to re-evaluate how much I am trusting God with my kids… again. When I thought back about Evie’s blue little face it scared me to think she may not have bounced back. BUT God is a better physician than I am, and she was okay. I feel like the devil throws these episodes back in my face and says “what if she hadn’t pulled through” just to distract me from growing and trusting God and pursuing him, being a woman after his own heart. I hope you can find time to dig into the word of God, focus in His truths, and be still in his Goodness.
Psalm 62: 1-8
1 Truly my soul finds rest in God;
my salvation comes from him.
2 Truly he is my rock and my salvation;
he is my fortress, I will never be shaken.
3 How long will you assault me?
Would all of you throw me down—
this leaning wall, this tottering fence?
4 Surely they intend to topple me
from my lofty place;
they take delight in lies.
With their mouths they bless,
but in their hearts they curse.[b]
5 Yes, my soul, find rest in God;
my hope comes from him.
6 Truly he is my rock and my salvation;
he is my fortress, I will not be shaken.
7 My salvation and my honor depend on God;
he is my mighty rock, my refuge.
8 Trust in him at all times, you people;
pour out your hearts to him,
for God is our refuge.
You have a beautiful heart Anita, you won’t walk out of this valley unchanged (:
I will miss you tonight! Will plan another girls night soon.
Lindsey

Joyce says:Your words have meant so much to me. It strengthens
me each day and reminds me that we are on loan from God for a reason. May we find his will for us. You seem to have done this as you must realize how many lives Aria and your family are reaching with your testimony of faith.It is sometimes hard to tell Satan to go away and stop tempting us but we must do as you all have and just keep the faith. God’s will be done.Remember the “Footprints” when times get tough.

Rod & Margaret says:You are truly wonderful Anita how you cope so well with all these ups and downs. God has his hand in this – best these things get sorted out before you return home. Will pray for strength for you & Hamish and speedy healing for Aria. What a blessing Asher is and it’s wonderful that Nana can be there to help. It was our prayer some time ago that the Lord would send a family member to get alongside you for support. He IS faithful and “in the Name of Jesus we’ll have the victory”! xx

Jo says:Anita, this is hard yacker! I have been praying for you, specifically for your Mother’s heart which cries out to the Lord that you can all be home, as a family, for more than a few days at a time. I have been praying for you all being home for weeks on end, with Aria’s immune system kicking in and getting stronger. I am going to hold onto this vision for your precious family, and continue to pray it into being.
The others have said it all! You are outstanding. I love your humanness and your faith in your Lord, who is there every moment.
Love, Jo

Bronwyn says:You are expressing your deepest feelings and letting your vulnerability show…which is all good. You have all been through a lot and sometimes it parobably seems like it is never going to end. Still praying for you all and that precious little girl. Samantha says:Anita, we are all learning loads from you – especially to “lean not on our own understanding”. God has bigger and mightier plans than we understand and you help each one of us trust in Him fully and place all our faith in Him. You have been on such a long, hard road and still continue on it and, yet, your faith remains firm and strong – that alone is a blessing to all of us reading your posts. You’re making us strong and giving us strength to have faith in situations we are all going through. God bless you, Anita and family and may Aria be fully healed in Jesus name, Amen 🙂

iliganoa says:Romans 8:18 Paul is saying to us ” I consider that our present sufferings are not worth comparing with the glory that will be revealed in us.
And in verse 28: (more than conquerors)And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose.
And verse 31, 32: If God is for us, who can be against us? He who did not spare his own son but gave him up for us all, how he will not also, along with him, graciously give us all things?
And verse 38, 39: For I AM CONVINCED that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in CHRIST JESUS OUR LORD, AMEN.
John 14: 12-15, I tell you the truth, anyone who has faith in me will do what I have been doing. He will do even greater things than these, because I am going to the Father. And I will do whatever you ask in my Name, so that the Son may bring glory to the Father. YOU MAY ASK ME FOR ANYTHING IN MY NAME, AND I WILL DO IT. If you love me, you will obey what I command.

Your suffering is not a waste but an example to us all. Hamish and Yourself are beyond a doubt, on a journey that God has marked out for you both.
Aria and her journey is Gods gift for us to all learn from. I truly beleive that Aria is a living miracle! There is no doubt.
The sharing of your experiences honour us all and I beleive pleases God.
Aria’s journey teaches me that it is the relationships that we have with the ones we love that give us quality of life. Regardless of Aria’s medical challenges the way you both love and care for her is an outstanding example to us all.
As a fledgling christian God led me to share your journey to aide me in overcoming the doubts that I was having and to show me that in 2011 a miracle is only a prayer away.
I can only imagine how difficult days must be for you all. I pray that you may find comfort in knowing how much your journey is an example of Gods magnificance!
May God continue to bless us all with this miracle!
