Positive Progress
Aria keeps progressing every day! Â Today her liver number are almost normal. Â Phew! Â Last week they were so bad they were thinking of biopsying her liver- today they are improved heaps.
She is still on the vent and will be for a few more days, maybe into the weekend. Â Which means her birthday is on hold. Â It feels really hard, we had such high hopes for her 5th birthday!! Â Turning 5 is kinda a big deal in NZ and we were keen to celebrate. Â Still it doesn’t matter to Aria that we celebrate on a different day. Â It just seems wrong and unfair to have a party without the guest of honour! Â And how does one party when they are sedated and can’t speak with a yucky tube in their throat??
So we ask– could you please hold the Happy Birthday’s until we let you know when we are going to celebrate. Â Mainly to spare our hearts, it is hard when everyone else is saying Happy Birthday yet we are trying to forget the pain that is having to delay her birthday again. Â Thanks friends!
I spoke to the surgeon on this week about Aria’s long term prognosis.  They still have tricks up their sleeve to treat Aria’s bone marrow suppression.  Nothing extreme is on the cards and we pray we won’t need to get there.  Her ANC is 115 today!  Something, a tiny glimmer after days of zero!  It is something and we are holding on to that as a sign from God He is active and present!!

A miracle once more! Such great news again today – I am really happy for you all that the progress is positive once again. Can’t wait to hear when she is off the vent and able to interact with you again, especially with Nanna. Isn’t she just the most amazing kid – once again she confounds the doctors and does her own thing – a very special girl! Lots of love to you all x

So good to hear things are moving forward a little more positively, and so sorry that Aria’s birthday is going to have to wait a little – but do understand that it will be easier to celebrate it once things are better with her. We ‘let pass’ Mieke’s 3rd birthday when my mum passed away the day before – and a little while later once things had settled (albiet just a little) we had a great party for her… and she was none the wiser.

I am so happy that Aria keeps progressing so well! God is indeed present, and He loves her! Yeah, I will hold off on the birthday wishes. Sorry you have to hold off on her birthday again. he 5th birthday is big deal in America too. Hopefully she will be able to celebrate soon! God Bless!

Wow Miss Aria is one amazing little girl, she is a fighter for sure. So hard for you as parents to be constantly tested but you are so brave to rise each day to the challenge. Big praise to your medical team and the positive power of prayer from all over the world. Enjoy having Nana with you. Xxxx
