Raw - Aria MacDonald

Raw

Thank you for all the comments and emails and outpouring of love.  We deeply appreciate it.

We are busy packing up in Omaha and preparing to say goodbye to our friends both the hospital and outside.

We are planning to bring Aria back to New Zealand.  Please pray for the logistics of this. We don’t have an idea of flights yet, we obviously want to be on the same flight as her but we are waiting for all the paper work to be started and completed.

Details for a service to celebrate her life will be announced in the next few days once we know when we will be returning home.

Our hearts are so raw and broken, I can’t begin to say.

Thank you for keeping us updated. You are in my daily prayers and also my daily thoughts. I think about Aria and you constantly. There are no words to describe the heartache I feel, the depth of sorrow. I cannot imagine how dark this must be for you. Know that Aria was loved by thousands all over the world, as you are. She changed the world, she changed people. With your blogs you shared something so special. I will always feel privileged to have been able to read of your journey. Praying you can bring Aria home safely. Love to you all. God bless. xoxoxoxxo

Anita and Hamish, I hear your pain in the blog and I want to say take whatever time you need and whatever space you need to grieve as a family. We all love you and as much as we feel connected with you, please dont feel obligated to us in any way. Rather as a family attend to your needs first. That might mean asking for privacy some times. Love you heaps dear ones. <3

Not the way you wanted to go home, but I can only imagine how excited you are to be going home. What mixed feelings–now that you’ve made friends and family here in the US–but really there’s no place like home. Just rest assured there are LOTS of people praying for you guys! I will always remember Aria’s sweet little face on the pictures and her story–she’s touched so many in her short little life. I’m praying extra for Asher, too, as he deals with this at his tender age. Just hang in there and know we love you!
Much love coming your way. God will see you through to the other side.

  12. Taryn says:

You are all on my heart and mind. I pray for you all throughout the day, thankful that Aria is with Jesus and so sad that you are here without her. I’ll be praying for the logistics of your flight to work out easily and quickly, so you can join your family in NZ. I pray you feel the love of your “family” here in the US as well.

I found Aria’s story a year ago as I searched the web. We were considering a multivisceral transplant for our daughter who has mitochondrial disease, and went into intestinal failure at age 2. Aria’s bright smile on your homepage touched my heart immediately, as did your obvious faith in the Lord. I have followed her story off and on through Emmerson’s blog, and am so very very sad to hear of the long sorrowful journey that lies ahead for your family. My own child was not a candidate for transplant (too many other body systems failing) and after a long 2 years in the hospital, was placed on hospice care 10 days ago. We share the same anticipation that she will finally be liberated from her broken earthly body and made perfectly whole, free to run and dance (which she could never do) in the presence of the Lord. But, I know that for those left behind, the path with be very rocky. I am praying for God’s faithful love to cover both of our families during this difficult time.

Waiting to welcome you home, in prayer and with love. May God give you strength and peace in this time of immense pain. May you feel His love and care in all our love and care; may you be comforted. All our love X

Praying so much for you guys, and especially for your journey home at the moment
