Saturday Snow
We were on a family walk around the hospital and Aria decided she wanted to go outside! Â We quizzed her a bit ‘are you sure?’ ‘it is cold’ etc etc. Â She was determined and so we went back to the room for coats and hats. Â She put hers on and so we were sure she wanted to get outside
We only managed a couple of mins before it started to snow a bit. But it was fun to be outside and the cold was refreshing. This is a perk of Omaha V Auckland. We are able to get more family time together being that there is only a 3 min walk seperating us V a 25 min car trip. Downside being there are only short periods of time because we don’t have anyone to watch either child to focus on the other one but we are managing.

Hi, it was very inspirational to read Aria’s story in the DomPost, I am very happy to see that the Ministry of Health came through for you. I have just learnt that my 3 year old son may have Hirschsprung Disease, a much milder for than Aria, but all the same you story made me feel so inspired. I really hope all goes well for you in Omaha, enjoy your white christmas together (:

Hi!! Welcome to our country! My husband Steven & I (we live far away in Buffalo, NY) just learned about your arrival in Omaha from your kiwi friend whose son has prune belly syndrome like our son. My aunt Kathy & uncle Ed live in Omaha. I could not reach them by phone tonight but have written them an email with a link to your blog. My aunt is always calling families of children in hospital that she sees in the newspaper, but she would of course miss you because you are not in the newspaper yet. I am going to try to reach them again tomorrow. If you would like to write me back, please do so at my email address. Our son has had 3 surgeries including urinary tract and abdominal reconstruction. It is not easy living at the hospital, and our home is here, so God bless you as you wait.

We were in Starship Hospital in September and Aria was across the hall from us. My grandson Tyler was the patient and only 8 weeks old at the time. We remember Aira and have thought of her and your plight to raise funds for her transplant often since our stay at Starship. We are so happy you have received the funding you need. I saw the article in the Dominion and it brought tears to my eyes. I am so pleased you are getting the chance to make her well. You all must be so happy. You’re all such strong people to have coped with everything you have been through. I wish you all well for the future and our thoughts are with you at this difficult time.
