Wonderful weekend
The MacDonalds had a lovely weekend. Â A snow storm hit Omaha on Saturday. Â Snow and high winds lashed a big part of the Midwest, so we were tucked up inside enjoying frightful weather and our warm fire. Â The kids looked out of the window in amazement and we were so thankful we were all home.
By Sunday the winds had gone and thankfully it blew a lot of the snow away so I jumped in the car and headed out to church in Bellevue with Carol and Cordell. Â They had a Christmas service, drama and choir singing. Â It was amazing and very touching.
Asher birthday celebrations continued too! Â He wanted an Elmo cake for his birthday and boy did he get one!
Our talented friend Stephanie made it! Â Talk about WOW! Â Asher was very impressed and enjoyed eating it of course. Â It was strawberry flavoured cake as per his request. Â And then Aria informed me she wanted a chocolate Dora cake for her b’day next year 😀
Speaking of Aria. Â She is doing ok. Â Her headaches are back which is a bummer because no one seems to have a great theory as to why. Â We got a call from the hospital this arvo and they said her liver numbers are up, her ASL and ALT in particular. Â So repeat bloods tomorrow morning. Â Perhaps it is just a little virus giving her grief. Â She is still on O2 pretty much full time, gosh it is a pain lugging a tank everywhere. Â But she is happy and laughing and talking and eating a bit. Â So we just enjoy each day and try not to get to caught up with predicting her health.

Can your friend Stephanie make Kiannah an Elmo cake for her 2nd birthday soon? I feel any attempt I make now is going to pale in comparison!! That cake is awesome.

Yeah, the snowy weather hit Michigan too. Although it hit Minneapolis, Minnesota, & Chicago, Illinois the worst. So happy that Asher had a wonderful birthday! His cake looks awesome! Glad Aria is feeling okay, but sorry to hear that she’s having headaches again. Hopefully, she will be headache-free tomorrow! God Bless!

PS Could Aria’s headaches be completely unrelated to her condition and treatment? ie Could she need glasses? Do either of you wear glasses? Just a thought that popped into my head…apologies if it is a random one! XX

Good for you! That is so sensible and stress-free: to enjoy each day and not get caught up with predicting Aria’s health. And to think you were all in the best place during the snowstorm: together,inside, warm and looking out the window! There is nothing better than doing what you are doing: counting your blessings!(And did you know they multiply when you start counting?)I suggest you start a “Blessing Book” with Aria and Asher. Be prepared, they will surprise you with so many contributions that you will soon run out of paper.

That is such an incredible cake! Has your friend ever thought of designing cakes for a job and making a book for us so we can do it??? Wow!
