Queen Aria
Aria and Asher had a visit from our Make A Wish friends today. Â The two ladies volunteer for MAW and have been our contacts for organising (and postponing) our Disneyworld trip. Â They have been in contact with us and were sad to here of Aria’s health over the winter. Â They popped in to visit and brought Aria a very cool Disney Princess Crown and wand and Asher had a Donald Duck soft toy. Â It was fun to visit with them.
We are pleased that Aria’s new blood pressure medication has done the trick. Â Her legs are slowly starting to deflate/dry out/slim down. Â And it appears to be keeping her BP well under control unlike her previous med. Â We take her BP at home and every reading we get is in the normal range.
Started the enzymes last night, mixed with apple baby food.  Got off to a hairy start but she ate them all.  Did another dose this morning with the mixture in an oral syringe and she sucked it out.  That seems to work better than trying to spoon it into her mouth.  She told me they were delicious!
But sadly it can’t be all joy and sunshine. Â Aria outputs have shot back up again yesterday and today (2000mls/24hours!). Â We called the team to let them know and thankfully they didn’t want her back in. Â But Aria will have another scope on Monday because it has been a month since her last one. Â AND we had to stop the enzymes too, much to Aria’s disappointment!
This past week has been really nice.  Her outputs have been trending down and we have made progress on advancing her feeds and dropping her TPN.  It has given me time to feel embarrassed about how stressed and worried I was that this bowel was in serious trouble and it wasn’t the Norwalk causing this.  This little quote is currently stuck on Aria’s bedroom door at home.  It clear knocked my socks off when I read it.
Stress and Worry: Basically these two behaviours communicate that its ok to sin and not trust God because the stuff in my life is somehow exceptional. Both worry and stress reek of arrogance. They declare our tendency to forget that we’ve been forgiven, that our lives here are brief, that we are headed to a place where we won’t be lonely, afraid or hurt ever again, and that in the context of God’s strength, our problems are small indeed.

Nola Young says:Oh My, doesnt that quote say it all. It reminded me of another I read and was convicted by before heading to USA in 2007 – “Worry is most often a prideful way of thinking that you have more control over life and its circumstances than you actually do.” At least when we see the root of worry,we confess that and see how to attack it – put our focus back on God and all His greatness, power and strength and HIs mightily promises, never to leave us nor forsake us etc etc etc….Wonderful to hear that the new meds are making a difference in some departments anyway! our love

Jo says:I just read about your Valentines Day. It sounded so special. How neat you two could have some time together as well.
I think Aria suits being a Queen. Or a gorgeous princess!
I pray that the scope goes well, and that the outputs lower back to normal. How awesome to be home together for 10 days. I pray the gaps between hospital visits become months apart – not just days.

Tiffany Keller says:Looks like Aria likes being a queen. 🙂 That was very nice of the MAW ladies to give both Aria and Asher some gifts. 🙂 I’m very happy to hear that Aria’s BP medicine is working well for her, but I was sorry to hear that her outputs went up again. That does have to be fustrating for you. Praying the doctors can get a handle on that soon! That quote you use about stress & worry is very true. Have a great day tomorrow! God Bless!

iliganoa says:Wow Princess Aria really looks the part and so nice to hear shes getting much better than worse, sorry for the outputs I am sure it will be ok soon. Ive just read the Word for today from Radio Rhema and it says something like this, “According to your faith let it be done for you” says Jesus. in other words “Let it happens just as you believe” and the text is given from Job 3:25 “What I feared has come upon me” So depending how we believe God’s promises and power upon our lives…..just as you have quoted about stress and worry, we have. Thank you Lord Jesus for lifting up our faith unto you again, praise Your holy Name amen. I did needed this for myself as well, thank you Anita, you are not alone.

Bland family says:Anita, I really liked reading that quote. Thanks for sharing it. It ties in with a scripture I read yesterday:
My flesh and my heart may fail,
but God is the strength of my heart
and my portion forever.
Psalm 73:26
Much love to you and your family
